Latest update: August 15, 2026. We checked Langua's product and pricing pages, its iOS and Android listings, and recent learner feedback. We also tried to return to our review account, but Langua's sign-in check stopped us before we could begin a new session.
How did we review Langua?
We first tried Langua in French, using its AI chat and flashcards. In August 2026, we used a free Langua account again to look through its conversation choices, flashcards, and import tools. Those are the screens shown below.
Langua is the company's AI language app. LanguaTalk is also the name of its separate marketplace for lessons with human tutors. This review focuses on Langua, then explains the tutoring option briefly so you do not confuse the two.
On August 15, we tried to sign in again with the same review account. Langua's sign-in check would not let us through, so we stopped rather than create another account or enter payment details.
Because we could not get back into the app, we did not repeat a French conversation, check a fresh set of corrections, try the pronunciation tools, or test a second language. Our comments on using Langua come from the earlier French experience and the August screens. For features and prices that may have changed, we use Langua's current pages and say when the information comes from the company.
We did not test pronunciation feedback closely enough to judge its accuracy. One ordinary recording would not tell us much anyway.
Is Langua worth it?
Yes, for the right learner. Langua makes the most sense as a flexible practice space after you have some vocabulary and sentence-building ability. You can choose a guided conversation, roleplay, debate, grammar practice, vocabulary game, or your own scenario. You can type, speak, slow replies down, translate them, save useful words, and return to conversation history.
That is a useful combination if the main thing stopping you is a lack of opportunities to speak. Langua is available whenever you are, does not judge awkward pauses, and does not require coordinating with another person.
But open-ended choice is also its main tradeoff. If you are a complete beginner, a large menu of conversations does not automatically tell you what to learn first or how today's practice builds on yesterday's. Langua says it offers a guided A1-A2 course and suggested replies, but the product still feels strongest as a practice companion rather than a single course that owns your entire learning plan.
What exactly is Langua?
Langua is an AI language-learning app made by LanguaTalk. It is available on the web and through mobile apps. Its main tools are AI conversations, Call Mode, guided lessons, saved vocabulary and flashcards, stories, and content-based study with podcasts, videos, or imports.
Langua currently says it supports 23 languages. Japanese and Chinese are marked beta. Korean and Hindi do not yet have romanization, and Arabic is currently web-only without romanization. Feature availability also differs between web and mobile, so check your intended platform before paying for one specific tool.
This is not the unrelated Langotalk app. Copycat Cafe has a separate Langotalk review for that product. Similar names do not make them the same service.
How does Langua's AI conversation practice work?
Langua lets you start from a guided course, an open chat, a roleplay, a debate, a vocabulary or grammar activity, or a custom prompt. Langua says its AI characters use voices cloned from native speakers. Replies can include text and audio. You can also slow replies down, translate them, ask for corrections, and open more detailed explanations.
These are the conversation choices we saw in Langua's web app in August 2026. Because we could not sign in again, we cannot say whether the replies or corrections have changed since then.
What feedback does Langua give?
Langua gives you several choices for corrections. You can see them after every message, only when you ask, or when the app decides they would help. You can also open a fuller explanation and save words or sentences for review.
A Spanish learner on Reddit described using AI chat, a post-chat feedback report, corrections, cultural notes, saved vocabulary, and flashcards during one week of use. That was one person's week with the app, so your experience may be different.
App-store reviews are mixed on recording and transcription across different devices, and Langua's update log shows that it has continued working on fixes. That does not mean the app is broadly unreliable, but it is a good reason to try your microphone and usual device before committing to an annual plan.
Does Langua check pronunciation?
Only in a limited way. Langua says its web app can score a spoken suggested reply in French, Spanish, and English, and its guided Call Mode lessons include beta pronunciation feedback. In a normal conversation, an unexpected transcription may signal that the system did not understand you, but transcription is not the same as detailed pronunciation analysis.
If you want focused feedback on each phrase instead of occasional scoring inside open conversation, that is a different learning job. How useful are Langua's flashcards?
Langua lets you save words and sentences from conversations and content, import vocabulary, generate themed lists, add tags, and review with spaced repetition. The activities are Recall, Listen, Produce, and Cloze. Cloze is currently app-only.

When we tried these activities in French, Recall was the easiest because it showed the French word and offered pronunciation audio. Produce was harder because it started with the English prompt and required retrieving the French. Listen was the most interesting of the three because it began with French audio before revealing the answer.
The important limitation is that flashcards still depend partly on honest self-rating. That is normal for many spaced-repetition systems, but learners who want game-like automatic grading may find it less motivating.
What can you do with videos, podcasts, and imports?
Langua's web product includes video and podcast libraries with filters such as language, level, topic, dialect, and duration. Langua says you can slow playback, work with transcripts and translations, inspect words, and save vocabulary.
According to Langua's help center, you can import text or audio. YouTube imports are no longer available. Langua can turn supported text into synced audio and a transcript, which you can use for later study or discussion.

These tools make Langua more than a blank AI chat box. They are especially useful if you already have articles, podcasts, or vocabulary you care about and want your practice to follow those interests.
How much does Langua cost in 2026?
Langua localizes its prices. When we visited the pricing page in August 2026, it showed:
- Standard: €19.99 per month or €149.99 per year, with up to 30 minutes of Call Mode and 75 regular chat messages per day.
- Unlimited: €29.99 per month or €199.99 per year, without those daily caps.

Langua offers limited card-free access after account creation. Its extended Pro trial is different: Langua says it requires a card and lasts 5 days on a monthly plan or 7 days on an annual plan. Langua says web and Android purchases come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Apple purchases follow Apple's refund process.
The US App Store showed a 4.6 rating from about 2,400 ratings on Aug 15, 2026. Google Play showed 4.4 from about 1,810 reviews and more than 100,000 downloads. Store ratings change and do not tell you whether Langua fits your level, language, or device.
What does Langua do well?
- Flexible conversation: Guided lessons, open chats, roleplays, debates, games, and custom scenarios give you more choice than a single chat prompt.
- Low-pressure speaking: You can practice without arranging a tutor or waiting for a language partner.
- Connected vocabulary loop: Useful words from conversations and content can move into flashcard review.
- Content tools: Podcasts, videos, text, and audio imports give conversations more personal context.
- Feedback controls: Corrections can appear frequently, on request, or selectively.
- Broad language coverage: The current 23-language list goes well beyond the five languages Copycat Cafe teaches.
What could be better?
- Structure for complete beginners: Suggested replies and an A1-A2 course help, but Langua's biggest strength remains open-ended practice.
- Pronunciation depth: Limited scoring is not the same as word-by-word feedback on every sentence.
- Web and mobile differ: Some content and flashcard features appear only on the web or only in the app.
- Reliability varies: Recent public feedback includes mixed reports about recording and transcription on different devices.
- The extended trial requires a card: We did not enter card details, so we did not test the paid plans or their higher limits.
- AI is still AI: A fluent-sounding reply can still be wrong, culturally odd, or less useful than feedback from a skilled human teacher.
Who is Langua best for, and who should skip it?
Langua is a good fit if you:
- can already form basic sentences;
- want frequent AI conversation without scheduling;
- like choosing your own topics and scenarios;
- want vocabulary, content, and chat in one app;
- learn one of Langua's languages outside Copycat Cafe's current five.
Consider another option if you:
- want a clear lesson sequence from day one;
- need detailed pronunciation feedback on each phrase;
- prefer a human teacher who can diagnose personal patterns;
- want fully card-free access to an extended paid trial;
- need identical features on web and mobile.

What about LanguaTalk's human tutors?
LanguaTalk's tutoring marketplace is a separate product. You compare independent tutor profiles, availability, prices, languages, and teaching approaches, then book a trial or a full lesson. There is no recurring marketplace subscription. Tutors set their own rates, and LanguaTalk says its lesson packs include discounts.
The marketplace can make more sense than Langua if you want a human to adapt to your pronunciation, grammar, goals, and personality. The tradeoffs are familiar: tutor fit varies, schedules need to line up, and prices are usually higher than an AI subscription.

What is our final Langua verdict?
Langua is a strong choice for learners who want open-ended AI conversation plus a useful loop between chats, content, saved vocabulary, and flashcards. Its breadth is real: the conversation menu offers more direction than a generic chatbot, while the content tools let you bring personal interests into practice.
Its limits are just as important. The product is not a substitute for a human tutor, its pronunciation feedback is narrower than a dedicated phrase-by-phrase practice tool, and complete beginners may still want a clearer sequence. Because the web and mobile versions differ, try the version you plan to use before you pay.
When we tried to return on August 15, Langua's sign-in check stopped us before a conversation began. So we cannot tell you whether its conversations or corrections have changed since we last used them in French. For current features and prices, we checked Langua's own pages.
