You know the problem
30 students. 50 minutes. One teacher. The math doesn't work for speaking practice.
Your students pass written tests. They conjugate verbs correctly. They know the vocabulary.
But when it's time to speak? They freeze. They mumble. They switch to English after three words.
It's not your fault. With 30 students in a room, each one gets maybe 90 seconds of speaking time per class. That's not enough for anyone to build confidence.
Copycat Cafe gives every student a private French tutor—available 24/7, infinitely patient, with AI that scores every syllable.
Students practice speaking outside class. You see exactly who's progressing and who needs help. Everyone comes to class ready to participate.

What educators get
Tools designed for classrooms, not just individuals.
AI Pronunciation Scoring
Every phrase scored 0-100%. Students see exactly which sounds need work—no more vague "good job" feedback. Teachers can identify who's struggling before the oral exam.
Student Progress Dashboard
See which students practiced this week, their lesson completion rates, and pronunciation improvement over time. Know who needs attention before they fall behind.
Built-in Spaced Repetition
The app automatically resurfaces vocabulary students are about to forget. They retain more with less effort—and come to class prepared.
Real-World Conversations
No more "the purple elephant eats breakfast" textbook nonsense. Students practice ordering coffee, introducing themselves, giving directions—phrases they'll actually use.
Flexible Seat Licensing
Buy seats for your class, department, or entire school. Add or remove students as enrollment changes. Volume discounts available for 25+ seats.
Works on Any Device
Web, iOS, Android. Students practice on their phones at home, their Chromebooks in class, or tablets in the library. No special hardware required.
Watch. Copy. Chat.
The copycat method is how babies learn language. We just turned it into an app.
Watch
Students hear native French conversations at two speeds. Text starts blurred—so their ears learn the sounds, not their eyes.
Copy
They speak every phrase aloud. AI scores pronunciation 0-100% so they know exactly how they sound before talking to you.
Chat
Practice conversation with Copy, the AI. Students make mistakes with a patient bot, not in front of classmates.
Each lesson takes about 15 minutes. Students can practice before class, after class, or whenever works for them.

Questions from educators
Can I see my students' progress?
Yes. You get a dashboard showing each student's lesson completion, pronunciation scores over time, and last activity date. You'll know who's practicing and who's fallen behind—before the oral exam.
Does this replace my curriculum?
Copycat Cafe is designed to supplement, not replace. Use it for speaking practice homework—the thing that's hardest to do in a classroom. Students practice pronunciation and conversation outside class, so class time can focus on interaction, culture, and the topics you love teaching.
What levels does it cover?
Complete beginner through intermediate. Our lessons start with greetings and numbers, progress through everyday situations (ordering food, asking directions, making small talk), and build toward confident conversation. Most useful for students in their first 3-4 years of French study.
How accurate is the pronunciation scoring?
We use specialized AI trained on native French speakers. It catches the sounds that trip up English speakers—the French R, nasal vowels, liaison. It's not replacing your trained ear, but it gives students instant feedback when you're not there to listen.
What devices do students need?
Any device with a microphone and internet connection. Works on Chromebooks, iPads, Android tablets, smartphones, and laptops. No special apps to install for the web version—just open the browser. Native apps also available for iOS and Android.
Can we try it before buying seats?
Yes. We offer pilot programs for schools. Get a few seats for a semester, see how students respond, then decide if it's right for your program. Email us at schools@copycatcafe.com to set one up.
Is student data safe?
Yes. We don't sell student data. Audio recordings are processed for pronunciation scoring and not stored longer than necessary. We can sign data protection agreements required by your institution. Contact us for details on our privacy practices.

What is Copycat Cafe for Schools?
Copycat Cafe is a French learning software designed specifically for educational institutions. Unlike traditional language learning apps that focus on vocabulary recognition, Copycat Cafe trains students to speak French with proper pronunciation.
How it works: Students complete 15-minute lessons following the "Watch, Copy, Chat" method. They hear native French audio, repeat phrases out loud, and receive AI-powered pronunciation scores from 0-100%. This gives every student personalized speaking practice that would be impossible in a traditional classroom setting.
Who uses it: K-12 French teachers, university language departments, private language schools like Alliance Française, corporate training programs, continuing education programs at community colleges and senior centers, and homeschool co-ops looking for a structured French curriculum.
Key features for educators: Student progress dashboard, pronunciation improvement tracking, flexible seat licensing with volume discounts, works on Chromebooks/iPads/phones, and FERPA-compliant data handling. Copycat Cafe supplements your existing French curriculum—students practice speaking at home so class time can focus on conversation and culture.
