How much does Babbel cost? On Babbel’s US website, a subscription costs $17.95 a month, $45.75 for 3 months, $80.70 for 6 months or $107.40 for 12 months. Lifetime access is a one-time $299.99. Every plan includes all 14 Babbel languages. Of the subscriptions, the 12-month plan costs the least per month: $8.95.

Prices checked October 17, 2026.

These are the plans on Babbel’s US pricing page. Each subscription is charged upfront for the whole period and renews automatically.

3 months$45.75 every 3 months$15.2515%

12 months$107.40 every 12 months$8.9550%
Lifetime$299.99 onceNo monthly costNot listed

Babbel works out its savings against paying $17.95 every month. For example, 12 monthly payments would cost $215.40, so the 12-month plan’s $107.40 is half that.

All plans include the same course content: all 14 languages, speaking practice, grammar explanations, short lessons and review exercises. You do not pay more to add a second language.

Is the 12-month plan or Lifetime better value?

If you plan to use Babbel for less than three years, the 12-month plan costs less. Two years cost $214.80 and three years cost $322.20, compared with $299.99 for Lifetime.

Babbel’s discount page says a discounted 12-month plan renews at the same price you paid. That keeps the yearly comparison fair, but check the renewal price shown at checkout.

Lifetime makes sense if you are sure you will keep learning for years. Under Babbel’s terms, it covers the services in your order for as long as Babbel offers those languages. It does not automatically include future Babbel products.

Babbel Group Plan price

The Group Plan gives up to 6 people their own Babbel accounts with all 14 languages. On the US website it costs:

  • $30.95 a month, charged monthly
  • $185.70 for 12 months ($15.48 a month)

With all 6 places filled, the yearly plan works out to about $2.58 per person per month. The person who buys the plan pays for everyone and is the only one who can cancel it.

Does Babbel have a free trial or a free plan?

Babbel has no free plan for whole courses. You can take the first lesson of every course for free before you pay, which is the easiest way to see whether you like the lesson style. Our Babbel review covers what those lessons are like.

Babbel sometimes runs time-limited trial offers. Its terms say a trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends, so check the date on the offer you accept.

Babbel discounts and promo codes

Babbel runs offers on its own site. On October 17, 2026, the US pricing page showed a banner with the code BOO20 for 20% off Lifetime, with a countdown of 13 days. That would bring Lifetime to about $240.

Babbel’s discount page also advertises 50% off the 12-month plan, 25% off the 6-month plan and 10% off Lifetime. The 12-month price on the pricing page already shows that 50% saving. Before you use a code from a coupon site, compare it with the price on Babbel’s own pages.

Are App Store and Google Play prices different?

They can be. Babbel says prices and conditions can differ for purchases made in its app, and Apple or Google processes those payments. Check the price on your screen before you subscribe in the app.

Is Babbel Live still available?

Not for individual learners. Babbel stopped offering Babbel Live to individuals in 2025. Live classes now come only through Babbel for Business. If you want a human teacher, a tutoring marketplace is the closest option.

How refunds and cancellation work

  • Money-back guarantee: Babbel’s discount page promises 14 days, while its help center describes a 20-day guarantee on first purchases made on its website or Google Play. Write to customer service within 14 days to be safe.
  • Cancel before you renew: Babbel’s terms say to cancel at least 48 hours before the end of your current period. Your access continues until that period ends.
  • App purchases: cancel in the App Store or Google Play. Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases.

Is Babbel worth the money?

Babbel is good value if you want structured lessons with clear grammar explanations. At $107.40 a year, the 12-month plan costs less than a year of Copycat Cafe, or the $168 Duolingo Max price from our review, and it includes all 14 languages.

If your main goal is to speak, our pick is Copycat Cafe (we make it). You hear an everyday conversation, say each line aloud with a 0–100 pronunciation score on every word, then use it with Copy, your AI conversation partner. Choose Babbel if you want grammar-first lessons and a wider choice of languages.
