Preply Affiliate Program: Commission, Payouts & How to Join (2026)

What Preply publicly confirms about affiliate commission, monthly payouts and applications, without presenting account-gated rates as universal.

Reviewed against editorial standards

Preply is worth considering if your audience wants one-to-one tutoring. The awkward part is that you cannot properly compare its affiliate economics until you apply.

Preply confirms that affiliates earn either a fixed amount or a percentage of a new student’s first lesson. It does not publish one universal rate, cookie window, payment method or minimum on its public page.

I checked the public program information on August 30, 2026. Your approved Impact contract—not an affiliate directory—should control what you publish.

What can you earn?

Preply says the commission can be a fixed payment or a percentage of the first lesson, with offers varying by referral volume. Earnings for the previous month are paid by the 10th of the following month.

That is all Preply publishes universally. Search results quote everything from $10 to $70 and several large percentages. Some may have been real offers for a particular country, partner or network, but they are not safe numbers to present as “the Preply rate.”

If I were planning content around Preply, I would apply first. Then I would check the rate, cookie, permitted countries, refund rules and allowed promotion channels inside Impact before deciding whether the campaign is worth the work.

Make sure you join the right program

Preply has three programs that are easy to confuse:

If you run a blog, newsletter, YouTube channel or creator account, you probably want the affiliate program. A personal referral link is not a substitute for publisher tracking.

Who I would promote Preply to

Preply fits readers who want a real tutor and are prepared to pay for individual lessons. It also covers subjects beyond language learning, which can be useful if your audience is broader than language learners.

The sales argument is easy to understand: browse teachers, compare profiles and book someone who fits. The affiliate limitation is equally simple: you earn from the first lesson, not from a long tutoring relationship.

Preply or Copycat Cafe?

Disclosure first: we make Copycat Cafe. Our program publishes one rate for approved affiliates: 75% of the first eligible subscription payment, then 40% of later eligible payments for that customer’s lifetime while the affiliate remains active and in good standing. The cookie lasts 60 days.

I would recommend Preply when the learner wants individual human teaching, accountability or a language Copycat does not offer. I would recommend Copycat Cafe when the audience wants independent speaking practice in French, Spanish, Italian or German without scheduling or paying for each lesson.

My honest verdict

Preply may convert well for tutoring-ready audiences, but it is difficult to evaluate from outside because the important commercial details are account-gated. Apply before investing heavily in a review, and write from the terms you actually receive.

If public rates and recurring payments matter more to you, compare Preply with the other programs in our language affiliate guide.
