Busuu has the advantage of being a familiar, broad language-learning app. If your readers are already searching for Busuu, you do not need to spend half an article explaining what they would be buying.
The public affiliate offer is less exciting: Busuu’s current CJ listing shows 10% on qualifying paid-customer sales. Its rules are also stricter than many quick program roundups acknowledge.
I checked Busuu’s public listing and terms on August 30, 2026. If your CJ contract offers something different, your accepted contract wins.
What the 10% rate means in practice
Busuu pays a percentage of a qualifying sale rather than a fixed bounty. The amount you earn therefore depends on what the customer buys.
The public listing also says top performers may receive exclusive schemes. I would treat 10% as the starting point and anything better as negotiated upside—not as a rate to promise before Busuu offers it.
Busuu’s affiliate terms say commissions are payable when Busuu receives the associated customer revenue. Suspected fraud can leave a payment pending while it is investigated.
Is your channel likely to be accepted?
Busuu’s terms are written with established publishers in mind. Eligible media should be content- or service-based, English-language, fully functional and hosted on a top-level domain.
If you are a social-only creator, I would ask before building a campaign. If you run a proper website or publication, the requirements are easier to satisfy.
The rules worth knowing before you promote
Busuu prohibits self-referrals, spam, cookie stuffing, browser extensions, incentive clicks, misleading coupons, undisclosed commercial intent and bidding on Busuu trademark or coupon terms. It also restricts process and exit popups.
That makes this a poor fit for coupon-led or aggressive performance-marketing tactics. It is a more natural program for honest editorial content that sends readers directly to Busuu.
Who I would promote Busuu to
Busuu can make sense for an audience that wants broad language choice, a familiar general-learning experience and a recognized consumer product. Brand fit may compensate for the modest rate if your readers are already interested.
Busuu or Copycat Cafe?
We make Copycat Cafe, so take the comparison with that disclosure in mind. Copycat pays 75% of the first eligible payment, then 40% of later eligible payments for that customer’s lifetime while the affiliate remains active and in good standing. The attribution window is 60 days.
I would choose Busuu for broader language choice and readers specifically seeking a general app. I would choose Copycat Cafe for French, Spanish, Italian or German audiences whose main frustration is understanding more than they can comfortably say.
My honest verdict
Busuu is promotable, but the public 10% rate means product demand matters more than commission. Apply through Busuu’s CJ listing if you have an established content property and can follow its stricter rules.
Compare the economics and product fit with our other language-learning affiliate programs.
