I have some exciting news to share: French Together is now Copycat Cafe, and the rebrand is now live at copycatcafe.com!
The best way to learn a language is to be a copycat. Think about it: kids don't start by memorizing grammar tables. They listen, they repeat, they copy. And before you know it, they're chattering away.
That's exactly how Copycat Cafe works. Our cat mascot represents this philosophy: cats are natural observers who learn by watching and imitating. And that's what we want you to do with French.
The biggest change is our streamlined lesson flow. Previously, lessons had five separate activities (Reading, Listening, Pronunciation, Translation, Live Practice). We've simplified this into three focused steps:
1. Watch — Listen to a French conversation with the text initially blurred. This "ears first" approach trains your brain to recognize French sounds before seeing the words. Then the text appears with English translations, and you can review each phrase at your own pace.
2. Copy — Speak each phrase back and get instant pronunciation feedback. This is where the "copycat" magic happens: you're mimicking native speakers with AI scoring to guide your improvement.
3. Chat — Practice what you've learned in a roleplay conversation with our AI tutor. This is where everything clicks: you use your new vocabulary in a real conversation context.
This new flow is faster (about 15 minutes per lesson), more focused, and follows the natural way humans acquire language.
You'll also notice warm café colors throughout the app, plus our friendly cat mascot who guides you through each lesson. The whole experience feels like learning French in a cozy café.
The rebrand sets the stage for what's coming:
Head to copycatcafe.com to see the new experience. If you're already a member, just log in as usual—everything has been migrated automatically.
